Claudia Sidor Joins “Rector’s Coffee with the Graduate”
During her conversation with Rector Dr hab. Andrzej Rozmus, Professor of UITM, and Vice-Rector for Education Dr Barbara Przywara, Claudia reflected on her academic journey and career path: I completed my degree in Aviation Management at UITM, and thanks to that program, I was able to begin an internship with Aviation Valley in my third year. That internship eventually led to a full-time position in my current role.
Today, Claudia continues her master’s studies at UITM while working at the Aviation Valley Association — a cluster organization that brings together companies from the aviation sector and supports the industry’s growth in Poland.
My role involves coordinating the daily operations of our office and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Association’s activities. I’m also involved in two EU-funded projects: Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), an international network supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, and METASTARS, which focuses on innovation and new technologies in the aviation sector. Since November 2024, I’ve also had the honor of serving as Co-Leader of the Internationalization Working Group within the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP) — an organization uniting 44 aerospace clusters across Europe. It’s a tremendous privilege and an opportunity to collaborate with international industry leaders, she shared.
The aviation industry continues to grow and evolve rapidly, driven by increasing demand for air travel, technological advancements, and a global push toward sustainability.
Innovation and environmental responsibility are now top priorities. Companies are investing in fuel-efficient aircraft, alternative energy sources, and the digitalization of operations. New business models are emerging, such as urban air mobility, which could revolutionize the way we move through cities. Despite the challenges, the aviation sector holds vast potential — especially for those open to new technologies and international cooperation, Claudia explained.
She also praised the international character of the Aviation Management program at UITM:
Courses were taught in English, and our group included students from around the world. This helped me learn how to operate in multicultural environments from the start, which now makes it much easier to work with international partners. The program blended theory with practice, which was crucial for me. I particularly valued courses using simulation tools — like airline management simulations — which allowed me to gain practical experience in making business decisions. Another highlight was learning from industry professionals who shared their knowledge and real-life insights with great passion. And importantly, the program included mandatory internships each academic year, which allowed me to gain early work experience. These internships helped me transition smoothly into the job market and ultimately led me to Aviation Valley, she concluded.
Rector’s Coffee with the Graduate is a series of meetings between UITM alumni and the University’s leadership, designed to maintain strong alumni relations and foster collaboration in various areas — including business networking, student workshops, internships, collaborative projects, and the development of the Alumni Club.
