Michał Mucha was a guest at “Rector's coffee with a graduate”
At a meeting with UITM Rector Dr. Andrzej Rozmus, Prof. UITM, and Vice-Rector for Teaching Dr. Barbara Przywara, Michał Mucha talked about prospects in his industry.
For the past 4 years I have been working as director at the TYWENT Ventilation Equipment Factory in Tyczyn. My main tasks are to improve the organization, optimize processes and improve management throughout the company, modernize the production plant, including modernization of machinery and buildings. I not only implement the company’s strategy, but to a large extent take part in creating it. Currently, my competencies are very broad, I plan and manage the implementation of investments, shape pricing policy, deal with personnel issues, take part in product and technology development – says Michał Mucha.
The state and size of the ventilation industry is most influenced by the number of new construction investments and industrial upgrades in Poland, but these are not the only industries that need ventilation. TYWENT supplies products used in production lines, halls, greenhouses, specialized explosion-proof fans used in mines or charging stations.
We also supply fans for more common applications, such as hood fans for restaurants and food trucks, and transport fans for sawmills. In the past, a large part of our customers were farmers in the area around our region, but the number of functioning farmers is decreasing. The market is changing, but its existence is not threatened, thanks also to some regulations indicating the need for ventilation. In addition, people are paying attention to what they breathe, and good ventilation is an obvious choice here. Our company can boast a very long, more than 50 years of presence on the Polish market. Over the years we have gained a reputation as a manufacturer of high-quality, reliable products, and a significant part of our customers reach us on recommendation from satisfied users – adds the guest of ‘Rector’s Coffee’.
Michał Mucha is a graduate of the Faculty of Management with a specialization in Logistics and Innovation in Production Management. During the meeting, he stressed the importance of choosing this major and working with highly qualified staff.
I decided to study because of the need to gain theoretical knowledge in the field of management. I have always agreed that it is not worth breaking open doors, and instead of learning from my own mistakes over the years, I decided to gain knowledge by learning from the mistakes and experiences of others. The completed specialty “Logistics and innovation in production management” showed me a new perspective on the processes in my company. At this point I want to note and appreciate the teachers-practitioners working at UITM, it was the greatest value for me when experienced practitioners passed on academic knowledge. Studying at UITM showed me a lot of opportunities and international outlooks on the whole context of management. I was often able to use the knowledge I gained and correct patterns immediately and implement them in the company. I defended my master’s thesis on optimization of warehouse management, which I am implementing in the enterprise. In addition, my studies further stimulated my curiosity in management, and as a consequence, I started postgraduate studies for a Master of Business Administration from October this year – says Michał Mucha.
