Dominika Starzak
During my studies, I started working for the largest cosmetics distributor in Poland, “Sonia”. After a year of work, I was promoted to the position of Junior Brand Manager, thanks to which I started working with the largest retail chains and online stores in the beauty industry. Apart from the commercial part of my work, I often use the knowledge acquired during my studies, among others: assessing the quality of new cosmetic brands that would like to cooperate with my company or creating own brands for “Sonia” from scratch. Currently, I am an independent Brand Manager – I successfully implement and run cosmetic brands, both care and makeup.
The cosmetics industry is very demanding. Market trends change frequently and require companies to respond quickly and constantly implement new products. The Polish market is a particular challenge for young brands – we have a very demanding consumer and great competition.
I remember my studies very positively, sometimes I even miss them 🙂 I particularly remember the lecturers who were infectious with their passion for a given topic and the “Chemikos” scientific club – a place where you could expand your knowledge and skills. I recommend that my younger colleagues choose a career that is related to their passion and will be able to fulfil their ambitions – it is true that if you choose a job you love, you will not work a single day.
