Iryna Shara Shara
My musical adventure began at the age of 7 when I performed my first piece of music called “Eto tiemnokrasnoje wine”. The performance was very interesting to the listeners. That’s when my parents decided to help me develop my vocal skills. At the age of 9, I got into a music school where I learned to play the piano. A year later, I started singing in the choir at the Music School. The great progress in improving my voice made a strong impression on my teacher, who said that I was suitable for a singing career. To continue developing my skills, my parents found a highly qualified professional who would improve my voice.
In 2002, I joined the group of members of the Polish Cultural and Educational Society “Odpowiedzenie”, where I performed as a soloist. The first festival in my life – “Trojandy Pryazovya” – resulted in receiving the first prize. The previously peaceful childhood turned into a series of concerts and music competitions in various cities of Ukraine and abroad. As a result, heavy and tiring vocal rehearsals simply left no room for games and other childish antics. Until 2009, I performed at almost 150 festivals, often winning main prizes.
The end of 2009 was a breakthrough for me. I decided to study in Poland and decided that music would remain only my hobby from then on. I started studying Journalism. Over the course of a few months, when music wasn’t with me every day, I started to feel its absence. Then I joined the university choir, and later I performed during the Culture Days and the annual Paniaga Festival in Rzeszów. At the end of my bachelor’s studies at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, I played a solo mini-concert.
The knowledge acquired during my bachelor’s studies at UITM allowed me to continue my studies at a higher level. I am currently a student at the University of Warsaw, still developing my musical career. On June 22-23, I had the honour to participate in the festival named after Krzysztof Klenczon, where from over 35 participants from different countries, the jury selected 12 people who ultimately performed on stage. The festival took place in a very social atmosphere, I met many wonderful people conducting music workshops. The award ceremony brought me a great surprise – I won the Polish diaspora festival participant’s award and the Alicja Klenczon award (named after the wife of the outstanding Krzysztof Klenczon) for the song “Biały Krzyż”.
Now I know that no matter what path I follow, music will always live in my heart.
