Paweł Lubiński is a guest of “Rector’s Coffee with a Graduate”
Paweł Lubiński defended his Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Production Engineering at UITM in November 2023. Prior to that, he defended his degree in Network Information Systems Engineering at PWSZ in Krosno, and after studying at UITM he also completed postgraduate studies at the University of Rzeszow, majoring in Computer Networks.
Paweł Lubiński started his journey in IT as an IT Specialist at Gran-Pik Liwocz, then worked at DataWorkshop Foundation, Digital Robots Sp. z o.o., MECH Sp. z o.o., among others. Currently, he does AI consulting at the University of Rzeszow, is an AI Researcher and Lead Data Scientist at Sagitum S.A., and holds the position of Head of Data Science at GC ENERGY.
The UITM graduate has a strong interest in AI artificial intelligence, which is why he organizes frequent meetings on behalf of the Polish ML Community group (a group that connects AI supporters and practitioners, where they share knowledge on machine learning, inspire and cheer), with a focus on IT and AI artificial intelligence. At the recent IT Career Day at UITM, Paweł Lubiński gave a talk for Computer Science students entitled. “Practical advice for students applying to the world of modern technologies of the IT industry” as a speaker from Sagitum.
In his position as Head of Data Science at GC ENERGY sp. z o.o., Paweł Lubiński is responsible for identifying and evaluating new strategies in the area of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation with a focus on the potential of AI, IoT and robotics. In my work, I use data analysis and machine learning algorithms to derive insights from industrial data, optimize operational efficiency and enable predictive maintenance, says the UITM graduate.
Perspectives for the industry in which I operate – the petrochemical and energy industries, automotive and IT, as well as for my position as Head of Data Science – appear to be very promising. The demand for automation, robotics and integrated management systems in the industry continues to grow. Providing machine learning expertise and experience is becoming crucial for companies seeking to use data and technology more efficiently. Developments in artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data analytics offer new opportunities to automate processes, increase energy efficiency and introduce predictive maintenance. Importantly, new tools and methods from machine learning are constantly being developed which provides opportunities to continuously improve one’s competence and make work a passion. For people hungry for knowledge, it’s more than just an 8-hour day job,” notes Paweł Lubiński.
In the opinion of the guest of “Rector’s Coffee with an Graduate,” his professional career was strongly influenced by his studies at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow. Already during his studies he participated in research on cognitive business process automation algorithms. During the three semesters of graduate studies, we had many interesting academic discussions and disputes. The opportunity to discuss with senior programmers developing large IT systems is a great learning opportunity for a student. Thus, I verified my developer knowledge here and supplemented with the latest and best use cases,” recalls Paweł Lubiński.
Rector’s Coffee with Graduate with the participation of Paweł Lubiński was held on March 21, 2024. The purpose of monthly meetings between UITP alumni and Rector’s Authorities is to maintain ties, cooperate in many common areas, i.e. business lodges, student workshops, student internships, projects and business collaborations, as well as develop the activities of the Graduate Club.
